The Young Miss Buffalo Pageant Scholarship and Enrichment Program, Inc. (YMBP, Inc.) was founded by Detra M. (formerly McTier) Trueheart in 1999 to provide more enriching and life changing opportunities to low income young ladies ages 13-17 in the Buffalo area. The number of teenage pregnancies and instances of youth violence involving young ladies ages 13-17 was increasing. In a time where Buffalo, New York was known for having the second highest teenage pregnancy rate in the State of New York and the presumption that idle minds and hands contributed to the influx in the numbers, the Young Miss Buffalo Pageant Scholarship & Enrichment Program evolved.  To Learn and become involved in this program, please check out their website @ www.ymbp.org
